The term “Body Contouring” or “Mommy makeover” is an umbrella term for the different procedures grouped together covering the different areas of the body. These combined procedures allow patients to restore everything from below the breast to a time before pregnancy or weight loss. Many different aspects of the body can be addressed and the treatment of each of these areas is individualized per patient to ensure the optimal, long lasting result they desire.Learn More
According to the American Society of Plastic surgery, over 300,000 women undergo breast augmentation each year, making it one of the most popular cosmetic procedures available. One may choose to have cosmetic surgery performed for a variety of reasons including small breasts, asymmetry, and loss of volume due to pregnancy or weight loss. The options for breast implants are constantly changing with the placement varying from in front or behind the chest muscle depending on the individual patient’s anatomy and desired result. Implants can be placed in several different methods such as below the breast, around the nipple, or under the arm. I strive to achieve a natural augmented look on every patient. Oversized implants are discouraged due to high risk of complications like development of scar tissue around the implant, also known as capsular contracture, and/or implant rupture.Learn More
I decided to come to Louisville for plastic surgery training, largely to learn the art of closed rhinoplasty from one of the masters. I decided to stay because both rhinoplasty and Louisville are very special to me. Rhinoplasty is often considered to be one of the most difficult procedures in Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. Though the reasons as to why are numerous, arguably the most important is an issue of patience, or lack there of. Patience is necessary for not only the physician but the patient as well. One must understand that the changes made in the operating room do not fully manifest for many months.Learn More
Dr. Little sees many patients for complex body contouring after weight loss and bariatric surgery. The best candidates for body lifting procedures are those who have maintained weight loss and have an active exercise routine. Rejuvenation after weight loss addresses the excess skin and fat, as well as the tightening of muscles in the tummy, hips, thighs, arms, neck and buttocks. Procedures can be performed on an outpatient basis or with a 1-3 day hospital stay depending on the complexity. Downtime may range from a few days to a few weeks. Dr. Little has helped develop new techniques in lower body lifting to give better long-term results and reduced scarring. He has presented his findings at regional plastic surgery meetings.Learn More
